Every component in our systems is chosen for reliability, food safety and ease of service. Here is what goes into a typical installation.

We do not sell equipment separately. Every component listed here is part of a complete installation that we design, install and maintain. The purpose of this page is to give you a clear picture of what the system contains so you can make an informed decision about whether it suits your space.

Modular Rack Structure

Structural

The rack is the backbone of the system. We fabricate frames from powder-coated mild steel in a range of standard widths and heights, with custom dimensions available for spaces that require them. Shelf positions are adjustable to accommodate different plant heights and growing channel configurations.

Wall-mounted brackets are included for stability in kitchen environments where floor space is at a premium. Freestanding configurations are available for lobby and open-plan office installations where a more sculptural presentation is appropriate.

Full-Spectrum LED Grow Lights

Lighting

Each growing level is fitted with a dedicated LED bar tuned to the spectral requirements of leafy herbs and microgreens. The spectrum emphasises blue and red wavelengths for vegetative growth while including a white component that makes the installation visually appealing in customer-facing environments.

Fixtures are mounted on adjustable brackets so the distance between light and canopy can be set correctly for each species. A programmable timer controls the photoperiod — typically 16 hours on, 8 hours off for most herb species.

Nutrient Reservoir and Dosing Unit

Nutrition System

The nutrient system consists of a food-grade polypropylene reservoir, a submersible circulation pump and an automated dosing unit. The dosing unit monitors electrical conductivity (EC) and pH in the reservoir and adjusts nutrient concentrate addition automatically to maintain target values.

The circulation pump runs on a timed cycle, delivering nutrient solution to the growing channels and returning it to the reservoir. This recirculating approach keeps nutrient use efficient. The reservoir is sized to the installation — larger systems have proportionally larger reservoirs.

Growing Channels

Cultivation

Growing channels are food-grade polypropylene profiles that sit on the rack shelves. Nutrient solution flows through the channel in a shallow film across the root zone — a technique known as NFT (Nutrient Film Technique) for herbs, or flood-and-drain for microgreen trays.

Channel width and spacing are configured to the plant species. Basil and mint need more space than chives or cress. The channel layout is specified in the design document and can be reconfigured if the plant selection changes.

Growing Media and Seedlings

Consumables

We use rockwool cubes as the primary growing medium for herbs. Rockwool provides excellent aeration and moisture retention and is inert — it does not affect nutrient chemistry. Microgreen trays use coco coir, a natural fibre substrate that supports rapid germination.

All seedlings are supplied by us. We germinate from seed in our propagation facility and deliver established seedlings to each site during weekly maintenance visits. You do not need to manage seed sourcing or germination.
